Eugene Leroy Anderson

Overview

Born: 18 March 1949
Died: 11 July 1969

Eugene Leroy Anderson was suspected of being a police informant and killed in July of 1969. His body was found in Leakin Park in October 1969, and 12 people were indicted. Only one person—Irving (Ochiki) Young—was convicted in Anderson's torture-slaying. However, in Young's case, the jury was not informed that the two witnesses against Young, Mahonney Kebe and David Vaughn, also participated in the killing. Young's sentence was commuted by the governor in 1974.
